It’s a special day, the fifth of May. Yet I actually woke up with a persistent feeling of anxiety and dread, which happens sometimes. Reading this has helped a bit.
And having you here helps a lot.
I started Five By Five Times three years ago in June, just to have somewhere to put my homeless ideas and creations. Never could I have imagined that it would introduce me to such lovely people. That it would give me a practice and habit of daily writing and other creation that gradually, imperceptibly vanquished resistance and fear of the empty page. And that it would sometimes even help me through lean times.
If there’s a better antidote for difficult feelings than gratitude, I don’t know what it could be. Welcome to new subscribers, and my heartfelt thanks to you all for being here and welcoming me into your inboxes, especially those who’ve been with me since the early days.
Five By five means loud and clear but has also come to mean feeling right with the world. Thanks to you I can be both. It gives me the courage to press on with the many projects I must give positive energy and faith to this week. Diolch yn fawr iawn, pawb.
You do our hearts good! I so love these collages.
